Rezumat / Summary: This paper examines the concept of intimacy in autobiographical and journalistic literature, highlighting how authors explore and reveal intimate experiences through autobiographical writing. The relationship between author, narrator, and reader is discussed, particularly in the context of Philippe Lejeune’s “autobiographical pact”, where the author promises to tell the truth about their life. The paper also addresses the influence of social, cultural, and historical contexts on intimacy and how the boundaries between private and public life are increasingly porous in modern society. Additionally, the critical perspective of authors like Mircea Mihăieș is analyzed, emphasizing the relationship between intimacy and suffering, as well as the importance of vulnerability and confession in raw literature. In this context, intimacy becomes a narrative tool that allows readers to connect with the experiences of the author or character, creating a deep bond based on empathy and self-reflection. The paper thus explores the social and literary impact of exposing intimacy, emphasizing that only through an authentic and honest exploration of intimate experiences can we truly understand the complexity of the human being and their condition.
