Rezumat / Summary: The legal misunderstandings between the nieces of Vasile Alecsandri and the Romanian Academy lead to some administrative unclarities as well as numerous public discussions and comments. The article focuses on a 1942 document from the Archive of the Iași National Museum of Romanian Literature referring to the poet’s wealth. The document is important for the history of the “Vasile Alecsandri” Museum of Mircești as it includes two reports prior to 1942: one from September 16th, 1925, and another one from November 26th, 1938, contributing this way to a better understanding of the destiny of the place.
