Rezumat / Summary: I.I. Mironescu made his entrance in Romanian literature due to G. Ibrăileanu, the founder and spiritus rector of “Viața românească” literary magazine of Iași, who noticed and encouraged his talent as a prose writer. After a constant collaboration with “Viața românească”, I.I. Mironescu entrusted his writings to another literary magazine, “Însemnări ieșene”. Although the literary groups of Iași were highly appreciative about his works (I.I. Mironescu published two short stories volumes during his lifetime), some of the great critics of the time were reluctant about it and expressed this accordingly. Now, after almost nine decades since the death of I.I. Mironescu, after overcoming the essays to evaluate his writings strictly in relation to the literary canons, I.I. Mironescu’s prose deserves to be revisited of the public. This leaves room for new perspectives of interpretation and gives proof of possessing enough re-sources that can capture the interest of today’s readers.
