Rezumat / Summary: No doubt, G. Călinescu set the bar high for those who, after him, ventured to rewrite, from various perspectives, our literary history. This is less valid, maybe, if we consider the beginning of Romanian literature. Firm frames were established for the literary works that could be included in these volumes of literary history, frames that later proved to be not that “firm” after all, as it was the case of the language the works had been written in. The literary segment this article’s author refers to, which includes the beginnings of Romanian literature (in Latin, with Latin or Slavonic script), was subjected, in time, to completions that proved to be absolutely necessary. Numerous researchers added new texts and data. The author does not propose with this article a completion but rather a suggestion of a natural course of Romanian literature from the anonymous (or almost anonymous) Johannes Sommer and Christian Schaeseus to the poet Dosoftei.
