Rezumat / Summary: At the beginning of the 20th century, the great Romanian historian A.D. Xenopol considered that he discovered a huge literary talent, namely Coralia Gatoschi (pen name Riria), who would become his wife a few years later (in 1908). Unfortunately for her and especially for her future husband, the contemporary critics did not agree with his opinion and have promptly reacted to the publication and vivid promotion of Riria’s various poems and plays. The dispute regarding the literary qualities of Coralia Gatoschi also had some hilarious episodes which involved press conflicts and even a physical confrontation which fuelled the small talk within the intellectual circles in Iaşi and in the Romanian Kingdom.
